Staying Safe on Datezy

Your safety comes first. Most people you’ll meet are genuine — but a few simple habits keep you protected online and in person.

Meeting in person

• Meet in public the first few times — a café, bar or busy place.
• Tell a friend where you’re going and who with, and check in with them.
• Arrange your own transport there and back, so you’re always in control.
• Stay sober enough to stay aware, and trust your instincts — leave if something feels off.

Protect your information

• Never send money or share bank details, however convincing the story. Requests for money are the clearest sign of a romance scam.
• Keep chats on Datezy until you trust someone, and don’t share your home or work address early.
• Be cautious of anyone who refuses to video call, rushes the relationship, or always has an excuse not to meet.

Report and block

If anyone makes you uncomfortable, you can block and report them in a couple of taps from their profile or your chat. Reports are confidential and help keep the community safe.

Verified profiles

Look for the verified badge — it means the member completed a live video selfie check. You can also verify yourself in Settings.

In an emergency

If you’re ever in immediate danger, call 999. To report online fraud in the UK, contact Action Fraud.
